Hemp plantations are proposed for approximately a third of the existing arable fields of the Hadspen Estate. The extent of the planting and the resulting yields would ensure the financial viability of the proposed extension to Lily Farm.

The settlement proposal couples the existing infrastructure of Lily Farm with an ensemble of buildings that provide for an anaerobic digester, hemp oil extraction, hemp fines production, a seasonal workers commune and a manager's house. The settlement is phased to allow for the establishment of an anaerobic digestion plant that uses cows' excrement to make electricity. The development is extended to facilitate the production of hemp products including bio-diesel, hemp board and hemp pellets for burning in the settlement's biomass boiler.
